Is He For Real?

Theres this guy i've had a crush on for 2 months now, he was 'making-out' with one of my best friends and now they've stopped. Hees 16 and Im 14. He txts me alot and seems to care about me. My family knows his family. He asked me to date him the other day and ive been telling him yes, only Im not sure if he's for real. He didn't ask my friend to have or anything like that. I would definatly say no if he asked me to do anything ual or that - he knows i'd ay no. Should i date him fr a bit of fun?
