Going to be in Reno NV in a couple of weeks - what are some things to do?

there isn't tons to do in Reno besides gamble, but there IS tons to do around Reno! Make sure to take a day to drive either around Lake Tahoe or at least spend the day at the Lake- probably South Shore where most of the action is. You can take a paddle boat tour out to Emerald Bay on either the Tahoe Queen or the MS Dixie. You can stop in Truckee at the Donner Memorial and walk around Truckee- an awesome little town. The lake is 70 miles around and making a few stops would take the whole day. Also, you can spend a day visiting 2 different places- one is Virginia City, the historic town up in the mountains where gold and silver were mined and Mark Twain lived. It's mostly original and super fun to visit. The other place which you can visit on the same day, just down the mountain is Carson City, the capitol of NV. There is the NV State Museum, a railroad museum and other stuff to do. For a long time it was the smallest capitol city in the country. Take a walking tour (maps available at the Chamber) which will take you past lots of historic homes, including the governor's mansion. have fun in the area!!!
